About this Event
Children (4+) and their parents are invited to participate in the Electronic Music Workshop for Children led by composer and performer Tasos Stamou.
Participants will have the chance to experience contemporary electronic music creation using physical toy instruments and professional electronic gear, playing and listening to their unique music creations. You are welcome to bring your own musical toys and toy instruments from home.
Participants will receive a recording of their music creations by e-mail after the workshop’s completion.
For parents/carers and children 4+ years old, all children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Places are limited, please book separate tickets for adults and children from the options provided, so we can monitor numbers.
A healthy snack for every child will be offered for free at the end of the session.

Tasos Stamou is an electroacoustic music composer and performer, alternative electronic music instrument maker, tutor and sound technologist. During a decade of sound performances and recordings, Stamou has developed a unique style of live electroacoustic music composition. Long and continuous pieces are created in situ using a “portable electroacoustic music studio”. His work explores the space between ancient and contemporary transcendental music, using both traditional and advanced media. Tasos Stamou is leading workshops of alternative music technology as an extension of his artistic discipline. During these workshops, Stamou shares his experience in DIY electronic instruments making and the creative use of such interfaces.
