Electric City Roller Derby is hosting a two-day Officials Clinic designed for all experience levels—from brand-new officials to seasoned veterans. We are excited to welcome Kira Duncan (she/they), a roller derby referee with 17+ years of experience and nearly 1,000 games officiated across six countries. Kira has officiated JRDA, MRDA, and WFTDA postseason play, including multiple national and world championships.
This clinic is intentionally new-official friendly, while still delivering meaningful growth opportunities for experienced officials. Instruction will focus on practical application, positioning, communication, and game management.
Clinic Format
The clinic will use a round-robin structure, rotating participants through:
• On-skates instruction
• Off-track learning and discussion
• Live scrimmage application
This format allows participants to immediately apply concepts in real time, gain reps, and receive feedback in a supportive environment.
Schedule
• Friday, Feb 28 | 1:00–5:00 PM
• Saturday, Mar 1 | 10:00 AM–12:00 PM
(Schedule is expected to remain very close to these times)
Cost & Registration
• $60 total
• Capacity: Limited
This clinic is not a fundraiser. Pricing is set intentionally to fairly compensate instructors and cover event costs so we can bring high-level officiating education to Montana. Electric City Roller Derby is subsidizing this event to reduce barriers to access.
Registration is required. Once capacity is reached, a waitlist will be opened.
