About this Event
Elaine Taylor grew up in Limavady where her sense of wonder, intrigue and imagination was greatly enhanced by regularly finding herself lost in the local woods while on the hunt for Faeries. Mythology, Lore and Nature have always featured heavily in Elaine’s practice as both a sculptor and an Arts Facilitator and Creative Director. Elaine’s creative educational journey brought her first to NWRC Limavady to study Foundation Art and really experiment with and explore Arts mediums and materials. Her journey continued across the Irish Sea at Sheffield Hallam University where she studied Contemporary Fine Art and began pushing the boundaries with figurative sculpture and immersive installation. This journey inspired both Elaine’s sculpture and Arts Facilitation work to create not just a sculpture but a whole experience which could be immersive and sensory and, quite often outside.
Elaine established her Arts outreach organisation, Anann’s Arch in 2020 which was the 10th year of her Arts area (of the same name) at Stendhal Festival in Limavady. She began her company with a strong ethos to Engage, Create and Inspire every single participant and design bespoke workshops with clear objectives. We love nature and our environment and we must protect it where possible. Anann’s Arch does that by using nature and recycled materials in all of the workshops and quite often foraging for materials will become part of the workshop. Anann’s Arch has a growing team of over 60 professional Artists who have all been trained in the Anann’s Arch facilitator training programme and are passionate about creating creative experiences that focus on the participant and nurture mother nature too.
