NE Volume ‘Her music has textures of New Country while being authentic, dark and edgy. I believe that if there is some possible way that Karen Anne Carpenter, Stevie Nicks and Jonny Cash had a child together, that child would be Elaine.’ *****
In the Beginning….
Elaine Palmer hails from an isolated village up on the North Yorkshire Moors in England but spent most of her life travelling back and forward to her family in Phoenix, Arizona. Growing up in an old Watermill in the wilds of Yorkshire Elaine surrounded herself by music, writing songs influenced by her surroundings and music both in the UK and USA. Elaine finely honed her distinctive voice and built a reputation for her emotive mesmerizing stage presence as her fusion of British Fok and American Country styles. Elaine has released a handful of records and toured the UK extensively, playing with the likes of Patty Griffin, Lilly Hiatt, Sea Sick Steve and Paolo Nutini.
Elaine’s success continues….receiving more national UK radio airplay with BBC legends Bob Harris, Iain Anderson and Eve Blair, all declaring themselves fans of her work on air with fantastic reviews from the biggest UK music press MOJO, UNCUT, MAVERICK, RnR Magazine, Americana UK.
MOJO ‘With a beautifully conversational voice, an unerring sense of melody and a bittersweet and wistful repertoire, Elaine Palmer is undoubtedly a talent’ ****
MAVERICK ‘A rich and powerful voice that ranges from a subtle whisper to a full-blown bluesy edge, she writes incredible songs that stand-up to repeated listenings’ ****
HALF MOON RISING
Elaine headed out to California where she worked with producer and engineer Mike Butler whose credits include, Norah Jones, Ray LaMontagne, Phoebe Bridgers and The Pretenders.
She recorded a mostly live album at Half Moon Lodge up in the San Diego hills over 8 days with a bunch of incredible musicians.…Matt Lynott (The White Buffalo drummer), Bobby Furgo (Leonard Cohen’s violinist) Patrick McClory and Dave Berzansky (Hacienda Brothers pedal steel), Mike Butler (guitars).
‘Palmer’s powerful expressive voice stands comparison with Emmylou’ RnR Magazine
‘Carefully constructed, strong on melody, her best work yet’***** AmericanaUK
Half Moon Rising was released in 2024 and immediately play listed by British Airways on all their flights Worldwide. The record receiving great press reviews and airplay from both UK and USA stations.
The Land In Between studio full album released 2021 Worldwide digitally and through the iconic UK Indie label Butterfly Effect on limited edition coloured vinyl which all SOLD OUT to private collectors before the release date. It was playlisted on Qatar Airways World Wide.
ROCKING MAGPIE – ‘Twangtastic guitar and rhythm section bring out the pathos of Elaine’s voice. The result is really and truly OUTSTANDING. The finest thing Ms Palmer has ever recorded’ *****
