"Beautiful free-form filming at its best when it's expressing itself in the music and words of the tango" (Vincent Canby, New York Times)About this Event
As part of the DC Tango Festival, the Pan American Symphony Orchestra brings you this moving story of the sorrow of exile-- a group of Argentines living in Paris seek connection to their culture by staging a set of tangos. The film alternates between their vibrant rehearsals and their circumscribed lives in low-rent apartments, underemployed, fitfully communicating with families back home, trying to make do with what they hope are only temporary arrangements in a foreign land.
