evicshen is the nom de guerre of sound artist, experimental music performer, and inventor victoria shen (she/her). based in san francisco, shen's sound practice is concerned with the spatiality/physicality of sound and its relationship to the human body. her music features analog modular synthesizers, vinyl/resin records, and self-built electronics.
shen's music eschews conventions in harmony and rhythm in favor of extreme textures and gestural tones.

shen is notably the inventor of needle nails, acrylic nails with embedded turntable needles allowing her to play up to 5 tracks of a record at once. shen's diy approach extends beyond just instruments but also music releases.
her debut lp, hair birth, features copper album art that transforms the cover into a loudspeaker through which the record can be played. recently, shen has started releasing hand-made resin records embedded with found materials, each piece functions not only as playable music media but as unique art objects.

échec is a blackened-grunge duo born of a desire to depart from electronic music.
their influences range from black metal to hyper pop, with a detour through witch house and screamo, to name a few. these are filtered through their very spontaneous and direct musical approach, where pedal-boards, rows of toms and cymbals and other superfluous accessories are intentionally put aside.

lucas abela
lucas ‘granpa’ abela (fka justice yeldham) has been performing their signature instrument—shards of amplified glass—for over 20 years. their singular practice spawned from the international noise music underground, where the glass evolved from a means to create free-noise cacophonies into an oddly versatile instrument producing an organic form of outsider electronica.

abela performs the shards like a bell-less saxophone, their lips subtly transmitting micro-sonic vibrations into the pane. this signal feeds a complex modular patch producing both raw audio & control voltages, so the dynamics & frequency of their performance modulates itself within varying parallel effects chains.
mixed together they create the illusion of a ghostly accompaniment, forming dense layers of anomalous music.
