The Ekka and its neighbour The Tivoli have teamed up to stage the first ever offsite Ekka concert – Ekka After Dark – one of the special entertainment events planned for the 150th year of the Royal Queensland Show.
The Ekka, The Tivoli, Select Music and Triple M will present the Ekka After Dark live music concert on the evening of Tuesday 11 August with Australian country music superstar Casey Barnes as the headline act.
Casey will bring his electrifying Made For This Tour to Ekka After Dark, celebrating new music alongside the hits that have made him one of the country's most in-demand live acts. Known for his high-energy shows and radio-friendly country-rock style, Barnes has racked up ARIA and Golden Guitar awards, multiple #1 singles, and millions of streams worldwide.
Casey will be joined by a huge line-up of special guests including DJ Desert Rose, Farmers Wants a Wife star and Tamworth Country Music Festival 2026 Toyota Star Maker Award-winner Jarrad Wrigley, Northern NSW based emerging singer-songwriter, Beau Shearer and Casey’s daughter, Charli Barnes, for her solo debut. The concert will run from 6pm to 11pm.
Ekka After Dark tickets will be sold in a bundle with an Ekka Any Day Twilight Ticket for $69. Tickets will go on sale from Monday 11 May.
RNA Chief Executive Brendan Christou said he was delighted to launch Ekka After Dark because it was a first for the Show and one of several special Ekka events planned to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the state’s biggest and most loved event.
“The Ekka is all about showcasing the best of Queensland, including its live music, particularly country music. For many years the Ekka has had a jam-packed schedule of live music acts in venues such as Stockmen’s Bar and Grill,” he said.
“Ekka After Dark is an exciting extension of that Ekka entertainment program which will not only provide further exposure for our state’s live music scene, but it sees us partner with the iconic venue and our neighbour, The Tivoli.
“The Ekka After Dark event represents great value giving ticketholders the experience of Ekka from 4pm plus a major venue concert all for $69. It promises to be a memorable People’s Day public holiday eve night out.”
