About this Event
Former Arizona Republic columnist E.J. Montini presents an eight-session workshop on the art of opinion writing in its many forms: op-ed columns, criticism, essays, blogs, letters to the editor, and more.
These days, when everyone is talking, being heard isn't necessarily a matter of what you say, but how you say it. Each week E.J. will explore a different element—from subtle persuasion and universal human stories to other genres and creative forms. Participants will read standout columns, discuss technique, experiment with fresh approaches, and receive weekly writing assignments. At the end of the series, the group will reflect on their growth and explore possible venues for submission. Perfect for writers seeking to persuade, sharpen their voice, and connect meaningfully with readers.
