About this Event

We are delighted to announce the launch of the EIT Hub UK – connecting UK and EU talents, knowledge and key players to tackle societal challenges. This forms part of the EIT’s worldwide Global Outreach programme linking the EIT’s innovation ecosystem with those of outreach locations, forging synergies with global innovation leaders. The appetite for collaborative innovation between the EU and the UK and the ensuing benefits remain high four years after Brexit. Now that the UK is a part of Horizon Europe, we can celebrate this important step and re-boot our world-class UK-European innovation collaboration.

EIT Climate-KIC, EIT Digital, EIT Health, EIT Manufacturing are four independent Knowledge Innovation Communities (KICs) which span all countries across Europe and are linked through the common tenets and resources of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT).

Each KIC is a public-private partnership with multinational corporations, preeminent universities, entrepreneurs, and private investors represented within their communities which together number more than one thousand partners. The KICs have deployed more than GBP1 billion in innovation solutions over the past 10 years.

The KICs focus their activities on domains of innovation that are enabled by Digital Deep Tech and which are of the highest political and economic importance: Net zero solutions, Digital Health, and Sustainable Manufacturing. They are therefore strategically positioned to provide a bidirectional bridge for innovation and commercialisation between the UK and Europe.

The EIT Hub UK is a key strategic initiative to boost this crucial bridge. To mark its launch, the EIT and its UK Hub are jointly hosting a Collaborative Innovation Workshop.

The Collaborative Innovation Workshop will engage UK and European experts to define the critical challenges within the key domains of innovation, identify potential solutions and shape a pilot collaboration project for each domain.
