Hi Friends:
We are back! Come one, come all to the Eighteenth Annual Holi Hungama! Come celebrate the Festival of Holi with gulal (colored powder), food, drinks, and lots of fun at this family friendly event.
We will be hosting this event on March 29th from 1pm to 3pm. As in the past, we'll be at Quincy Park in Arlington in the picnic area. Wear your finest whites and get ready to have some fun! Feel free to bring friends -- the more the merrier. This is a kid-friendly event so bring them too. There is ample street parking and in the park’s parking lot. Quincy Park is a few blocks from the Virginia Square Metro stop on the Orange Line.
We just ask that you bring some gulal (colored powder), so we have enough to play for a while, and either something to eat or drink (non-alcoholic, per park rules). You can get gulal at any Indian grocery store in your area or on Amazon.com.
We appreciate all of the help people offer in making this event great. Here are the things that we hope you can help with:
~Set up before the event (moving benches, laying out tablecloths)
~Keeping the trees & grills clean during the event (also keeping the trash & recycling managed)
~Clean & pack up after the event

As always, here are a few things to keep in mind:
• Wear clothes that you don't mind getting color on.
• You may want to bring the following: a towel; dry change of clothes for after the event; outdoor games; plastic bags; food/drinks (things that are acceptable at public places); picnic blanket/lawn chairs to sit on; and your cameras (in a plastic bag or bring a disposable one)!
• If you have them, wear contacts instead of glasses.
• Water balloons, water guns!
A tip to getting the color off your skin quickly: rub baby oil or Vaseline on your skin before playing with the colors. You can wear nail polish to prevent the color from setting in the nails.
Hope all of you can make it!
Best,
Mona
