Eight Projects To Think About Non-Human Worlds: A Conversation Between Design Practitioners Who Use Objects As Tool Of InvestigationDesigners Johanna Seelemann and Fiona Raby are brought together through Forecast’s mentorship program, participating in the ninth edition of the Berlin-led live arts platform. Under a broader theme called Paradoxical Imaginings — Ideas and Objects, they explore more-than-human perspectives, with a focus on ecologies, farming practices and soils.
In the first week of November, they are in Iceland for a study trip hosted by Nordic House, where they will have the opportunity to meet local designers, artist, climate scientists, to visit farms, extraordinary landscapes and geological phenomena. This offers a chance to spend time thinking and discussing together.
For the event on Saturday 9th they would like to open up their ongoing conversation for an audience. As two designers from different generations, they will explore interrelated ideas, both using design objects as tools of investigation.
