About this Event
An Eid al Adha Gathering for Families.
‘Eat together and do not eat separately, for the blessing is in being together.’
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ
Celebrate the blessed days of Eid al Adha with a classic Indonesian-style barbecue. Halal Bi Halal is an Indonesian tradition where families come together to foster the Islamic tradition of silaturahmi - showing mercy and asking for forgiveness from one another. Join us for makan bersama (eating together), nostalgic games for the kids and a space to reflect on our intentions.
Featuring a very special sensory crafts table by Astrid Jayengsari of PaperPlayground exploring themes of nurturance, lineage & memory centred around her maternal grandmother Opung Emak. Astrid will also prepare DIY ketupat Eid greeting cards for the kids.
Please note: in accordance with our Islamic customs, men are encouraged to use the front courtyard as their gathering space while the main gallery will be reserved for women and children. Men may use the prayer space in the main gallery and walk through to access the amenities.
