About this Event
? Belly Dancing as Healing, Joy & Feminine Wisdom
This class is an invitation to reconnect with belly dancing as a tool for joy, healing, creativity, and feminine embodiment.
Rooted in Egyptian tradition, belly dancing has long centered the core as a source of grounding, intuition, and wisdom—long before it was commodified and separated from its cultural roots.
Growing up as an Egyptian American, for Ala The Heartist, this dance was how women gathered in community: sharing laughter, releasing stress, celebrating milestones, and honoring life.
"I learned by dancing alongside my cousins, sisters, aunts, and friends—never competition, only connection."
In this class, you’ll learn foundational Egyptian belly dance movements, explore how each supports healing and feminine energy, and practice variations that meet your body where it is.
We’ll dance to music I grew up with and close with an open, integrated movement session to freely combine the moves.
No experience needed. Come as you are.
