This session will support apprentice mentors to evaluate their roles and to develop skills and understanding to maximise success and impact.
About this Event

Thanks to support from the Cornwall Council Adult Skills Fund, these courses/workshops are fully funded for learners 19 or over that live in Cornwall.


Who is the course for?

This half-day workshop is designed for any professionals who are passionate about sharing their knowledge and expertise with apprentices and new starters. It is ideal for those who recognise the value of mentorship in nurturing talent and fostering growth within their organisation – this could be as part of a formal mentoring programme, or while undertaking the role of mentor informally. Participants will gain valuable insights and skills to enhance their mentoring capabilities.

Programme Content:

· Develop understanding of the role and responsibilities of a mentor - including the essential skills, knowledge, and behaviours of an effective mentor

· Understanding and supporting the most common challenges experienced by apprentices and new starters

· Identify potential barriers to successful mentoring and ways to overcome them

· Techniques for goal setting, identifying areas for improvement, and providing constructive feedback

· Building resilience and a sustainable, growth focused mindset

· Adding value as a mentor and tracking progress (including recording processes).


What is involved?

The seminar will be facilitated in such a way to encourage thinking and discussion around the mentoring programme to focus attendees on how it can be as effective as possible.
