Join us at the shop for an Author A&A and Book Signing with local author Edward Di Gangi on Friday, May 8, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.Di Gangi, a local writer from Hillsborough, NC, is the author of two deeply moving works that explore adoption, identity, and the lifelong impact of family connections.
His first book, "The Gift Best Given: A Memoir," tells the story of his search—beginning at age 69—for the identity of the birth mother who placed him for adoption. Blending personal narrative with historical detail, the book traces his journey of discovery and reveals the surprising life of his mother, a professional ice skater in the 1940s, while capturing themes of resilience, love, and reunion.
His latest book, "Gliding Through Goodbye," offers a powerful companion perspective. Inspired by notes left by his birth mother, Di Gangi reconstructs her voice in the form of a diary, following her life after the adoption. The book interweaves her travels across the United States and beyond with her emotional journey, illuminating a mother’s love and the pain of letting go.
During the event, guests will have the opportunity to hear more about the stories behind these books, ask questions, and meet the author. Copies will be available for purchase, and Edward will be signing throughout the afternoon.
