Event Overview

Welcome & Opening Reflections
We’ll start by setting the scene for the day, acknowledging the realities families and communities face, and celebrating the vital role parents and local networks play in children’s development.

What Meaningful Family & Community Engagement Looks Like
This session focuses on practical examples of how schools and communities can work more closely with families. We’ll explore communication, trust, inclusion, and ways to ensure parents feel informed, confident, and genuinely involved in their child’s education.

New Insights on Families, Wellbeing & Engagement
We’ll share recent findings and observations around family wellbeing, barriers to engagement, and what’s helping schools and communities build stronger, more supportive relationships with parents and carers.

Refreshment Break
A chance to pause, chat, and connect with others who share a commitment to supporting children and young people.

Pick & Mix Community Ideas Session
A collection of practical ideas, resources, and initiatives that help families feel welcomed, heard, and supported. These are approaches already making a positive difference in real communities.

Interactive Family & Community Workshops
Work alongside others to discuss challenges, exchange ideas, and co-create realistic actions that strengthen partnerships between schools, families, and local organisations. You’ll leave with clear steps you can use or share.
