The Dental Airway Management Course emphasizes on the importance of:
- Sedating patients confidently knowing you have prepared effectively for an emergency.
- Learning all the skills needed to intervene and manage an airway emergency with the skills and equipment available in your clinic.
- 4 hrs classroom learning with home study session.
What Will You Learn During The Course?
- Basic airway anatomy and physiology (adult & pediatric).
- Recognition of airway compromise during sedation: e.g., obstruction, hypoventilation, hypoxia.
- Techniques for airway management during sedation.
- Pediatric airway differences and sedation-specific considerations.
- Equipment familiarization: bag-valve masks, suction, oxygen delivery, monitoring.
- Response during a sedation emergency in the dental clinic environment.
- Practical and scenario-based training (hands-on) to build skills and confidence.
Are There Any Course Prerequisites?
- There are zero prerequisites for this program. No pretest is required.
What Certificates Will I Earn At The End Of The Program?
- The Canadian Heart Association Dental Airway Management Certificate.
