About this Event
Expand your research for farming and crop producers!
Are you an engineering, computing or science-focused academic researcher with an idea that could benefit farmers and crop producers? Funding is available to help you translate your research solution in a way that can help farmers and food producers in the UK.
This informal briefing event will present the Lincam CERES project and its associated funding schemes, which range from proof-of-concept projects to business start-ups.
Is my research agri-tech?
Prof Simon Pearson, Director of the Lincoln Institute for Agri-food Technology and Principal Investigator for the Lincam project, will set out the goals and ambitions of Lincam and how it links to related academic work in the region.
The event will provide a networking opportunity for interested parties to ask questions and learn more about the food and agricultural challenges to which their research could provide novel solutions.
We particularly welcome research and innovation leaders at universities who may wish to learn more about the Lincam scheme to help support other researchers in their institutions.
Research and innovation exploitation opportunity
This informal briefing event offers an opportunity to find out more about how your research can be supported and contribute to farming and food production innovation.
There are a succession of call windows, find out how to prepare your work for the next call. The process is collaborative, once an EOI has been submitted we will work with you to develop your ideas so long as they meet the criteria on the website.

The Greater Lincolnshire & North Cambridgeshire Agri-Tech cluster
The Universities of Lincoln and Cambridge have been awarded a £4.9m grant from the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) to help fund their drive to make the Lincolnshire and north Cambridgeshire (LINCAM) region a global innovation center for agricultural technology (Agri-Tech).
This Place Based Impact Acceleration Account (PBIAA) award from the EPSRC – the main funding body for engineering and physical sciences research in the UK – will deliver a step change in activity. The aim is for the LINCAM region to become an Agri-Tech gateway for the world – enabling the development of technologies at industrial scale and providing export opportunities for Agri-Tech companies and inward investment opportunities within both the Agri-Tech and primary production sectors.
Levelling Up
LINCAM will broaden participation in the regional cluster by offering access to the EPSRC funding to all UK higher education institutes involved in Agri-Tech research with the potential to drive economic and environmental or social sustainability in this region. Projects that are successful in securing a share of the funding will be actively mentored by the LINCAM team to accelerate the delivery of results.
Lincam CERES PBIAA project
This event is one of a series of regional events that we will be running around the UK. Keep an eye on the Lincam website for further information.
