Join the Edinburgh Greentech Futures community for a meetup with Diagonal - a company using data mapping to improve the urban environment
About this Event

We're back! Join us for breakfast, coffee and a chat with some fantastic people in the Greentech community. In this session we will be hearing from Gala Camacho, the founder of Diagonal Works - a start up looking at mapping and data for the improvment of city spaces.

This event is open to anyone with an interest in sustainability or greentech, and you’ll have the opportunity to meet other people in the space and get to know the Edinburgh Greentech community.

About Diagonal

Diagonal are a data science consultancy, powered by their proprietary software. They work with urban design studios, planners, property developers and research institutions. The technology is built to understand city systems using very large and sensitive data, making it possible to explore the intersection of city systems in a reproducible, transparent analysis process.

About Gala Camacho

Gala co-founded and works as a Data Scientist at Diagonal. Recognising that technology is only a small part in the cog that is designing, evaluating and understanding cities, Diagonal aims to improve the quality of life in cities.
Previously, Gala worked as Head of Analytics at a start-up in the civic and property tech space in Melbourne, Australia. Her technical career has focused mostly on working with non-technical people to develop analytics for measurement, in many different contexts, to help inform decisions.
Outside of work Gala gets involved with organisations that try to elevate the voices of those who are marginalised – mostly in, but not limited to, technology. She is always in search of interesting projects, particularly in the intersection of data + analytics, community building, and technical products that enhance equity in our society.
