An in-person writing retreat in Leeds for PGRs from WRDTP partner universities researching Education, Childhood and Youth.
About this Event

Join a writing retreat designed to support PGRs in Education, Childhood and Youth to meet their publishing goals. This event will provide some dedicated, distraction-free time in a relaxed environment to work on your own writing for publication.

This retreat is designed to be attended in partnership with the on Wednesday 3rd June, and provides an opportunity use the skills developed in the workshop alongside other PGRs. You are encouraged to attend both events if possible, although this is not a requirement.



Contributors:

Dr Peter Hart works in the area of Inclusion, Childhood and Youth, with research interests in the use of gaming in education, safeguarding and professional ethics, character education, and reading comprehension. Recent projects at Leeds include using board games to develop language comprehension, young people’s perspectives on active travel, ICKLE, REACH Primary, safeguarding gaming spaces, and Narnian Virtues. He is also the Director of the WRDTP’s Education, Childhood and Youth (ECY) Pathway.

  • This is an in-person event in Leeds (lunch and refreshments will be provided).
  • This event is open to members of WRDTP partner institutions only.
  • Bookings will close at 9.00am on Monday 1st June.
  • When booking, we ask that you use your institutional (.ac.uk) email address and complete all fields of the booking form. Thank you for your understanding.


Non-Attendance:

Whilst this event is free to attend for social science PGRs at our partner universities, please note that it has been organised at a significant cost to the WRDTP (approximately £50 per person). It is therefore essential that you inform us as soon as possible, and with a minimum of 3 working days’ notice, if you need to cancel your place. This will help us to avoid wastage, and allow us to offer your place to someone else. The WRDTP reserves the right to make a deduction from your RTSG (for ESRC-funded PGRs) or to charge your department (for PGRs with other funding arrangements) if you cancel at short notice, or if you do not attend the event having booked a place. Thank you for your understanding.
