DJ Shakti Rising, aka Sitara has been a dancer her whole life, deeply devoted for the last 25 years. She has spent 14 years in the worldwide network of the Ecstatic Dance scene, including Lake Atitlan Guatemala, Bali Indonesia, Portland, Ashland, Mt. Shasta & Eugene OR, upstate NY & Maui HI, as well as at an abunDance of Transformational Music Festivals & gatherings over the years. She passionately knows the power of music & embodiment as a path to healing, empowerment & liberation through dance & yoga, practice & play ~ to open the body, activate energy channels, get the shakti rising & release energy in a positive and healthy way, while reconnecting to one’s Body, Heart, Soul & Spirit ! *** Shakti Rising weaves a diverse full spectrum tapestry of yummy, conscious, high vibe Tribal & World Beats/Bass, Temple/Medicine Bass, Organic infused Electronic, Sacred soundscapes & Elemental infusions, aiming for Ecstatic and Next Level musical musings ~ Born & raised in Portland OR, Sitara was the founder & curator behind Unity Ecstatic Dance Ashland for 4.5 years. She offered her first 3 Ecstatic Dance sets in Lake Atitlan, Guatemala in 2012 & began live mixing in 2023.
Shakti Rising creates a rich & dynamic dance journey to activate opening, release, healing, expansion, juicyness, playfulness, transmution of dense energy and ultimately transcending into heart opening realms of blissfull ecstatic liberation.
