Ecstatic Dance Dallas is a space for everyone to feel included and safe.
About this Event
The more you sweat, the more you pray. The more you pray, the closer you come to ecstasy. ~ Gabrielle Roth, Sweat Your Prayers.
WHAT IS ECSTATIC DANCE: Ecstatic Dance is a diverse community gathering for those who want to express themselves in a playful, honest and artistic way with other people who value conscious connection, free-form movement and excellent music!
We create a space that is inspiring and uplifting; without talking, alcohol or the nightclub scene. We encourage participants to utilize the Ecstatic Dance space as an invitation for their magical mysterious nature, soulful somatic movement, creative self-expression, and heart-centered connection to self, life and others.
We hold a nonverbal, barefoot, alcohol-free container to keep the journey intentional and lucid. You can dance the night away and still wake up early to do awesome stuff in the world!
Pro Tips: (1) Parking is tight at the Sammons Center for the Arts and we always have a FULL house. Please carpool, Uber, city transportation, or rideshare when possible. Once the main parking lot fills at the top, there's overflow parking down the hill. We always work it out, just a heads up about how you can help. (2) NO CAMERAS, CELL PHONES or VIDEOS out in the dance space once we begin. This is not a performance and it's one of the agreements we make to participate. No livestreams, photos, or other media. We here to get down and as one of my teachers, Vin Marti says, "dance ugly and drool".
