About this Event
This workshop is for current K–12 classroom teachers.
Climate change is considered the greatest health threat of the 21st century, and children are particularly susceptible to its impacts. Join Dr. Kevin Lanza, the Director of the Health Equity Action Together (HEAT) Lab, as he shares research findings on how extreme heat affects the physical activity, health, and well-being of children, and different strategies that can promote positive outcomes. Research covered in this webinar is based in economically disadvantaged, Latino communities in Central Texas with a focus on households, bus transit systems, school routes, and schoolyards.
