About this Event
This workshop is for 8-12 classroom teachers, especially teachers in Austin ISD
Solar energy is coming to Austin ISD in a big way! Explore how your AISD partner, EcoRise, and their curriculum, resources, and grant funds for student-driven projects can be used to increase student engagement and cultivate solar-literacy your campus and in your community. Through this interactive professional development, teachers will access the tools that they need to help their students evaluate sustainability issues related to solar energy.
Agenda
- Access easy-to-implement design activities that you can use with your own students to explore the science of solar energy.
- Engage with a community of educators who seek to connect their students to the future of sustainable energy and transform their school building into a laboratory for learning.
- Explore how to apply for a Student Innovation Project grant to further student engagement and knoweldge and review examples of successful student projects.
Participating teachers will receive CPE and GT credit. The first 5 Austin ISD teachers to register and attend will recieve a $25 gift card for classroom supplies.
