About this Event
This workshop is for 6–12 classroom teachers in Austin ISD (i.e.secondary teachers (all subjects), instructional coaches, librarians, & campus administrators
Join us at the new Outdoor Wonder and Learning center at 84 Robert T Martinez Jr St, Austin, TX 78702, rooms 312A&B (portables).
Dive into EcoRise’s Green Careers and Renewable Energy lessons and work with Aubrey Lethbridge of Axis Solar to build and test solar panel kits. Teachers will have a chance to win solar kits as door prizes and will leave prepared to apply for EcoRise grants to fund additional solar builds that connect engineering, energy systems, and green career pathways. **Note: Teachers will have the opportunity to further explore the intersection of renewable energy and green careers with Zyprme, a local VR company that has partnered with EcoRise and Austin Energy to bring green careers experiences to classrooms.
Participating Austin ISD teachers and staff will receive PLED credit (if needed) and CPE and GT credit.
Check out how your students can apply for funds to make their solar-powered climate resilience projects a reality, just like these students from Jordan High School in Katy, Texas.
