Please join us for a kid-friendly Eco-Stewardship Day at Cannon Township Hall on April 26 from 9:30 AM until noon. You'll learn about invasive plants in Cannon Township and discover how you can make a significant impact in just a short period. Please dress appropriately for the weather, including wearing closed-toe shoes. If the weather forecast is unfavorable, we will postpone the event a day in advance. Bring sunscreen, bug spray, and a water bottle, and join us as we traverse the trails on Cannon Township property. Together, we'll identify harmful invasive plants and extremely beneficial native plants. Spread the word to local groups, especially those in need of volunteer hours! We hope to see you there! To Learn more or have questions contact Cy Balk at [email protected]
Please RSVP to the event so we have a proper head count.
Pictured above is garlic mustard as it appears in early spring and during its flowering stage later in the season. This plant can produce as many as 4,000 seeds, rapidly overwhelming any chance for native plant survival.
