Join us for a creative experience exploring the art of eco-printing! In this two-hour workshop, you will be guided in a step-by-step process on how to prepare your fabric, select and arrange plant materials, and print nature’s beauty onto fabric. You’ll leave with your own unique printed pair of organic, cotton socks, a detailed pdf guide, and the skills to continue your eco-printing journey at home. All materials are included in the class price. This workshop offers an enjoyable and meditative, creative experience. No prior experience necessary.
About the Instructor:
Selinger Gonzo is a Chicago-based natural dyer and multidisciplinary artist originally from México. Her work explores the connection between the self, the land, and the cycles of both. Her natural dyeing techniques include bundle dyeing, eco printing, immersion dyeing, ice dyeing, and mordant printing; with which she creates unique wearable art using a blend of kitchen waste, leaves, dry and fresh flowers, tree bark, from both Chicago and her native México.
