Exploring time through shifting rhythm and story, examining how our perception shapes the experience of movement and time.
About this Event

About this performance:

Echoes of Time will feature a series of solo works in the classical Indian dance style of Bharathanatyam. They will explore how rhythm bends and shifts, how cycles unfold, and how our own perception shapes the experience of movement. Through traditional pieces that weave together narrative expression and intricate rhythmic structure, the evening reflects on temporality both in story and in form.
In addition, we will present select duet works from the Anubhava Dance Company, performed with dancer Shriya Srinivas.

About the artist:

Dr. Shriya Srinivasan is a Bharathanatyam artist known for her vibrant stage presence and mature emotive depth, trained under Guru Smt. Sujatha Srinivasan. Shriya has performed widely at prestigious venues in the United States and in India. Blending her training in Carnatic music, neuroscience, and biomedical engineering, she brings a unique perspective to her practice and choreography. Shriya cofounded and co-directs the Anubhava Dance Company. Shriya recently co-curated 'Intersections', an international conference focused on the evolution of the Indian classical forms.
