Echoes of the Court is a distinctive concert programme in which Western and Ottoman court music enter into dialogue. Through a unique mixture of instrumentation the music reveals how these traditions have influenced one another across centuries. Specially created arrangements bring both their contrasts and shared musical language into a contemporary perspective.The programme follows a chronological journey from the seventeenth to the twentieth century, tracing the development of court music within different cultural and political contexts. Works by composers from both traditions illustrate how musical ideas travelled across borders and time.Interwoven with historical reflections, the concert offers more than a musical performance alone.
