The Malta Philharmonic Orchestra presents a captivating programme of mystical atmospheres and neoclassical elegance under the direction of Quentin Hindley.
The concert opens with Camille Pépin’s Vajrayana, featuring radiant, meditative textures inspired by Tibetan Buddhism. MPO Principal Horn Etienne Cutajar joins tenor Mark Milhofer for Benjamin Britten’s Serenade for Tenor, Horn and Strings, a luminous setting of haunting poetry.
Francis Poulenc’s charming Sinfonietta follows, brimming with rhythmic vitality and French esprit. The programme closes with grace and poignancy in Maurice Ravel’s Le Tombeau de Couperin, a tribute to fallen friends shaped by Baroque forms and impressionistic colour.
