This exhibition, by artist Jamil Siddiqui, captures an emotive perception of horses and houses, using a unique style.“When i paint horses and old houses, I'm not just trying to show what they look like, I'm trying to show how they feel. I love using really bright bold colours, sometimes even colures you wouldn't normally see to make horse seem full of energy and power. And when I paint houses, i use thick swirly brush strokes to make them look like they’re holding onto secrets and memories. I want you to feel the wind in the house’s mane and hear the creaking of the floorboards. I experiment with colours and brushstrokes to build up these emotions, like I'm mixing a recipe for feelings on the canvas. It like I'm trying to capture the spirit of these amazing things not just their picture.”
