Meet Echo Town, a duo consisting of brothers Ric and Robert Harrison who achieve a full band sound with just two pairs of hands.
Forget genres for a second, forget pigeonholes or styles. Echo Town lives in a world of its own. The musical chemistry between these brothers, Richard and Robert Harrison, shouts louder than any genre ever could. Witnessing these two working-class Yorkshire boys bounce around, smiling and loving the jams they produce, is enough to captivate their audience.
They have begun describing their musical style as ADHD, a mash-up of so many genres and styles. They can never commit to one specific sound. Richard can’t concentrate on one genre, and Robert can’t sit still. This creates something for everyone, and they consistently find a diverse demographic at their live shows as a consequence. Drawing on the bands of the 60s and 70s, Echo Town like to incorporate improvised musical excursions, drum solos, and off-the-cuff jams to keep each show fresh for them.
Relocating from Yorkshire to Cornwall in 2015, Echo Town began to tour extensively, performing at numerous festivals including Glastonbury and Boomtown. They packed out venues across mainland Europe and have performed at some of the most renowned festivals over there, including Montreux Jazz Festival.
“… Not surprisingly a good festival band…” – Alan Raw (BBC Introducing West Yorkshire)
“as if John Butler’s lapsteel, Xavier Rudd’s social commentary and Jack Johnson’s catchy pop ideals have all been fused by the hands of two British songwriters.” Richard Cadence (egigs.co.uk)
