The Mokelumne River water walk will include a chance to view the watershed from atop Camanche Dam where you will learn about the operations.About this Event
Join EBMUD Staff on Saturday, November 18, 2023 from 10 a.m. - 12 noon.
Tour the Mokelumne River Fish Hatchery as we discuss the successful salmon run this river supports, and finish with a walk along the river where you may be able to view salmon spawning in their natural habitat. You will also learn about the river restoration that EBMUD conducts and how it benefits the fishery.
This Water Walk will be an approximate 3-mile loop walk that includes some steep, paved facility access roads as well as flat unpaved fire roads and unimproved trails.
Details:
- Meet in the large parking lot in front of the hatchery.
- The walk will begin at 10 a.m. sharp and we aim to finish by 12 noon.
- Attendees need to be over age 12.
- Check-in is paperless, no need to print out your tickets.
- Save room for others. Please let us know if you will not be able to attend.
What should I wear?
- Wear sturdy hiking shoes with good traction.
- Please bring water, a hat, and wear sunscreen.
- Be prepared for variable weather: rain jacket/poncho
Where should I park?
- Park in the large lot in front of the hatchery, permits are not required.
