About this Event

Eat My Words" is a literary-themed dinner event that seamlessly combines the joy of gastronomy with the pleasures of literature, featuring a prominent author as the centerpiece.
Guests are treated to signature cocktails inspired by the author's book, adding a playful touch to the evening. The highlight of the event is the attendance of a featured author who shares insights about their works, engages in a captivating Q&A session, and possibly reads excerpts, offering attendees a unique opportunity to connect with the creative mind behind the words.

To enhance the interactive experience, the dinner party incorporates activities that incorporate the author's book, fostering a sense of camaraderie and intellectual enjoyment.

Eat My Words is not merely a dinner event but a celebration of the written word, where guests immerse themselves in a captivating blend of literature, gastronomy, and shared intellectual enjoyment. It leaves a lasting impression as a unique and unforgettable experience that bridges the gap between the literary and culinary worlds.

Rebecca Carroll is an Emmy award-winning interviewer, and the author of several interview-based books about Blackness and race in America, including the award-winning Sugar in the Raw: Voices of Young Black Girls in America, and I Know What the Red Clay Looks: The Voice and Vision of Black Women Writers, the latter of which will be rereleased in December 2024 by Haymarket Books as an updated, 30th anniversary edition. Her critically acclaimed memoir, Surviving the White Gaze, has been optioned by Killer Films, with Rebecca attached to write and develop for episodic TV. In her 2021 guest appearance on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah, Noah called her “a cultural icon.”
