About this Event

The day will begin with a guided tour and hearth baking workshop at Ireland House museum. Bring a bag lunch to eat along with the treats made on the hearth.

After lunch, we will head to the Joseph Brant Museum for a brief presentation and explore eat make share: a taste of immigration (created by the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21).

About Ireland House

Ireland House at Oakridge Farm was the home of Joseph Ireland, one of the earliest settlers to the area. Several generations of the Ireland family lived at the farmstead until 1985. The property is currently owned and operated by the City of Burlington, which has restored the museum to represent 3 distinct periods: 1850's, 1890's, 1920's.
