Easter Saturday: Bluebells of Chantries and Compton village hike

Let's celebrate Easter Saturday by hiking through the stunning bluebells of Chantries and Compton village!
Beginner/intermediate circular hike of 10.5 miles (17 km), 352m ascent and some hills.
Join me for a walk in the ancient woodland of Surrey. As we pass through, we'll hopefully see a beautiful carpeting of fragrant bluebells, which are usually in bloom at this time of year. If we don't, we'll still have a lovely walk in the peaceful woods and meadows of Southern England.
Following the ridge of the North Downs Way to the village of Compton, we'll circle around to the River Wey and the Chantries woods. Enjoying amazing views of Surrey that stretch all the way to the South Downs, we'll make our way to the ruins of Guildford Castle, built by William the Conqueror shortly after 1066, before heading back to the station.
GRADE: Beginner/intermediate. 10.5 miles (17 km), 350m ascent. Hills to climb and 5 hours active walking time. This is a circular walk leaving from and returning to Guildford station.
MEETING POINT: 9:40 London Waterloo station near the ticket office
TRAINS: We'll take the 10.00 train, arriving in Guildford at 10.32. (train tickets are not included) You will need to buy your own train ticket. With a Network Rail card the cost is from £14.75, or you can buy a group saver ticket on the day or in advance.
HIKE STARTS 10.40 sharp from Guildford station, shortly after the train arrives. If you're meeting us at Guildford station, please PM me to let me know so that we don't miss you.
LUNCH: Please bring a packed lunch.
HIKE FINISHES: Approx 16.45 at Guildford station. Finish times depend on the pace of the group on the day and are not guaranteed, so please consider yourself committed for the day.
What to bring: Lunch, snacks, water, suitable clothing and hiking footwear. If it's been raining it will be muddy, so please wear good walking shoes/boots. Please see the full kit list here
