Eastbourne Kidical Mass joins the Spring Water Festival!

The 4th Eastbourne Kidical Mass ride is part of the Eastbourne #Springwater festival! Join our joyful marshalled family mass bike ride around central Eastbourne. New and old riders of any age, bike style and bike-ability are welcome!
We will be accompanied on our ride by the brilliant WATERCYCLE. Brought to you by artists Charlotte Still and Clare Whistler of WaterWeek, this is a mobile unfolding box with exploration of the watercycle and many other things about water especially local water! (Thanks to BlueHeart). We will also be joined by members of gypsy swing band Lackadaisy -playing us along on the back of some of our bikes!! Plus free reusable water bottle giveaways, face painting and more.
Sunday 19th May, 1.30pm, gather at the Dolphin Water Fountain in Gildregde Park.
Timings:
1.30pm: Puppet show in the park: '‘Squeak the cat and the Watersprite’ by Boot Puppet Theatre'. Free face-painting!
2pm: After warming up with a tiny bit of yoga with Felicity, and a quick safety briefing, the RIDE DEPARTS!
By 3pm: We expect to be back at the park by 3pm for a rest and free drink at the Dolphin Water foundation (free water! free water bottles!), play in the playground or coffee in the cafe, and chance to further explore the WATERCYCLE. Ride takes no more than an hour, pace set by smallest or slowest rider.
Bring your bikes, dogs-on-bikes, singers-on-bikes, kids-on-bikes. Wear something blue, decorate your bike if you like! All ages, kind of bikes and abilities are very welcome! (but no kids balance bikes or scooters please). Helmets on kids compulsory, water themed puns on placards affixed to bikes about the poor state of Eastbourne's cycle infrastructure (both bi-cycle and water-cycle) highly encouraged! Come with or without kids!
