About this Event

East Coast Dance Arts 2026

26th & 27th March located in Dance Ireland Foley Street

28th - 31st March located in Inchicore College Co. Dublin

1st April located in Mermaid Arts Centre Bray Co. Wicklow

The Dance Intensive is a central focus of ECDA. Participants to the

Intensive will partake in a six-day immersive dance experience (March

26 – April 1) in Ireland. Daily Graham technique classes, choreographic

workshops and performance in a theatre comprise the Intensive.

The Intensive will take place in two locations in Dublin, both with public

transport, and the final performance day will take place in Bray, in

neighbouring county Wicklow, with public transport to and from Dublin.

Participants in the Intensive will have original choreography created on

them through the week. Along with works from other dance artists, it

will be performed as part of ECDA: Live in Mermaid Arts Centre theatre

on April 1st. Teachers Rafael Molina and Penny Diamantopoulou will lead

the Intensive.

Host: Rafael Molina

Info: Participants will take daily Martha Graham Dance Technique class in the
morning, Improvisation and Choreography in the afternoon, with two
invited master teachers: Penny Diamantopoulou (GR) and Rafael Molina
(FR). Technical level is aimed at dancers of Intermediate or above standard
in ballet, contemporary or other dance techniques. Daily schedule will be
10 am – 6 pm (Mar 26 – 31) and from 1pm to 10 pm (April 1).
Original work created during the Intensive will be performed in Mermaid
Arts Centre, Main Street, Bray, Co. Wicklow on Wednesday April 1st,
therefore participants should make themselves available for a full -day and
evening at the theatre on that Wednesday. The Intensive is a chance toimmerse in the creative process with Master Dance Artists for 7 days and is
a stepping stone to further opportunities in Europe and the USA.
