About this Event
Join EarthWorks for an evening exploring the complex and beautiful worlds of crows. We'll screen Society of Crows: The Art and Practice of Dr. Rob Butler, a contemplative film that follows local ornithologist, author, and artist Dr. Rob Butler as he explores what a life spent observing crows reveals about curiosity, attention, and interspecies relations.
Following the screening, filmmaker Mike McKinlay and Dr. Butler will discuss the film’s approach to capturing crow sociality and intelligence, share stories from decades of corvid observation, and reflect on what happens when we pay sustained attention to the more-than-human world that surrounds us. The conversation will explore how artistic and scientific practices can open up new ways of encountering the creatures who share our urban landscapes.
A free event open to all.
