Advances in Cancer Treatment - Synthetic LethalityTrevor Chang, Senior Scientist, Discovery Medicinal Chemistry @ Exelixis
Chemotherapy is a standard component of both oncology and treatment regimen in cancer patients. Conventional chemotherapeutic agents are cytotoxic in nature, underscoring the continued focus on precision medicines. Research in synthetic lethality is a growing platform which aims to help develop medicines that target specific genetic mutations expressed only in cancer cells while sparing healthy ones. This talk will highlight the promise this phenomenon holds in discovering safer medicines for cancer patients. Trevor's alma mater is UCLA, PhD Chemistry
