About this Event
If you've been tracking recent rollbacks to climate policy, proposed and otherwise, thank you for your attention and care. The rate of such news over the past few months has been an onslaught that has left most of us with little or no time to process our emotions.
Ignoring or bottling up emotions is uncomfortable. It can also impair our ability to connect with others, it can negatively affect our work, and it can stifle our joy and creative energy. Over time, it can even negatively affect our physical health. So, in the spirit of climate-conscious camaraderie and with the goal of some degree of emotional liberation in mind, I invite you to participate in a small, supportive group coaching event.
We'll meet at Cary Founded Co-working Space in downtown Cary, where we’ll create a safe space to become present to ourselves and each other. Then, we’ll utilize somatic (movement or gesture-based) coaching techniques to access and express our individual felt states. Somatic coaching utilizes the body’s innate intelligence to create small but powerful internal shifts without the need for storytelling or even much talking. During our time together, you'll get to experience somatic coaching both as the mover and the witness.
You will also:
- learn easy ways to regulate your nervous system to stay more grounded and resilient
- discover a simple way to partner with nature for guidance and strength
- have an opportunity to journal to further your process
All in all, I hope that your experience will give you a stronger sense of agency, something that is of great importance for all of us at this momentous time in our political history.
No experience with somatic coaching is necessary. All you need is a curious, earnest desire to pay attention to yourself and feel better.
