About this Event
Join Chief Imam Dr Sayed Razawi OBE, Chief Imam of the Scottish Ahlul Bayt Society and a leading voice in interfaith climate action, for an evening exploring how Islamic thought frames care for the planet as a moral, spiritual, and communal duty.
Drawing on Islamic philosophy, mysticism, and his work across the UN, COP26, interfaith networks, and national climate initiatives, Chief Imam Razawi will reflect on how ideas of balance, stewardship, and compassion can guide responses to environmental crises.
The evening will begin with a presentation form Chief Imam Razawi focusing on ‘Mizan’ — the Islamic concept of balance — and how it can guide meaningful responses to climate crises, sustainability, and resource use by people of all faiths and none, to cultivate more grounded, and ethical ways of living.
This will be followed by an open discussion and a chance to eat and mingle.
Chief Imam Razawi will reflect on how faith traditions can help us rethink our relationship with the natural world, drawing on his experience at COP26, where he joined global faith leaders in calling for urgent climate action and a just transition.
