In celebration of Earth Day 4/22 Georgetown Scott County Friends of the Parks extends an invitation our to the community for a Seed Starting Event. Containers will be provided by Georgetown Scott County Friends of the Parks. Soil and Seeds will be provided by Scott County Cooperative Extension Horticulture Program. More details are being finalized at this time; however we do plan for some refreshments, special guests, and celebratory music for a great family friendly evening. Be sure to grab some dinner before or after the event at one of our local favorites, Chinkapin Brewing. Chinkapin Brewing is sponsoring our Earth Week 2026 activities. Special thanks to Mark Carper with GSC Planning and GREAT (Georgetown Resiliency & Environmental Action Team) for taking the lead on organizing our community's celebrations of Earth Week 2026: Our Power, Our Planet
