About this Event
Looking for an Earth Day cleanup with a little extra wow factor? Grizzly Island Road is it. Meet us at the Suisun Hill Bridge for a morning of fresh air, wide open skies, and some of the most beautiful scenery in Solano County, all while doing something that genuinely matters.
This rural roadway is the main gateway into the 116,000-acre Suisun Marsh - one of the most important waterfowl habitats in the Western United States. Roadside litter doesn't stay on the road; it blows and washes into sensitive marsh habitat used by egrets, herons, river otters, and the endangered giant garter snake. What we pick up stays out of the marsh.
Wear closed-toe shoes and long pants - this is an outdoor, rural site with some brush. Site captains will meet you at the bridge, get you set up with supplies, and keep the morning safe and fun. We wrap up at 10:30 AM. Volunteer service certificates available on request. Come for the cleanup, stay for the views!
Fill out a waiver form:
All volunteers must sign and turn in the form prior to participating in the cleanup. Minors must have a waiver form signed by a parent or legal guardian.
