Join Shannon on Friday, April 17 from 6-7:30pm for a heart-opening Earth Day Cacao Ceremony.
Have you ever attended a cacao ceremony? The complete antithesis of picking up your online beverage order and mindlessly drinking it in your car as you rush here and there—a cacao ceremony asks you to slow down and notice every detail and every glimmer of magic that transforms this unassuming, nutrient-dense superfood into a deep, velvety elixir that calms the mind and strengthens our connection to nature and each other.
For thousands of years Central and South American civilizations have prepared and celebrated cacao not only as a nutritious food, but also a potent medicinal plant. Believing that it had divine origins, these civilizations used cacao to facilitate communication with the gods and serve as a vehicle for spiritual journeying.
Under the guidance of Shannon, we will prepare and share pure cacao, infuse our beverages with our wishes, then mindfully sip our beverage and experience the cacao with all of our senses. Together we’ll reflect and share insights on our experience, then enjoy a divine Restorative Yoga practice and a closing meditation.
This workshop is suitable for all levels of ability. Students can expect a slow, low-intensity, gentle practice with longer periods of stillness and rest. We will be spending the entirety of our time together sitting or lying on the floor. Please dress comfortably and if you have one, bring a favorite mug from home.
Workshop Leader: Shannon Legere
Limited to: 18 participants
Cost: $40 per person
