We are hosting regular volunteer days every first Saturday of the month in the spring and fall. Come join us and give back to the land by volunteering at Heritage Acres this year. While these work days consist of mostly manual labor, our projects can be adapted to any physical ability level, and all ages are welcome to participate. *This special volunteer day is being held on Wednesday, April 22nd to celebrate Earth Day.*
For this particular work day, we will be removing honeysuckle and other introduced species from the back of the burial meadow. This area has been a high priority focus for the last few years. Our goal is to open up the forest edge so that visitors can walk seamlessly between the meadow and the woods.
Please dress appropriately for the weather, as we are working outside for the entire duration of the event. In addition, bring your own drinking water and food to stay energized and healthy. There will be a group lunch break around noon. You do not have to be here for the whole duration, and can come and go as you wish. We hope that you can join us for this or another volunteer day soon.
