Gallery of Modern Masters presents Earth Alchemy, a March exhibition that explores transformation through stone, metal, and natural processes. The exhibition opens during Sedona’s First Friday Art Walk on March 6, 2026, from 4–8 PM, and continues through March 31, 2026, at the gallery’s Hillside Plaza suite A 3&4.Featuring the Stone Creations of Sedona artists Michael Redhawk and Marles Mallét, the botanical metalwork of Wayne Keeth, sculptural jewelry by Jeffrey Goebel, and luminous landscapes by Janet Blumenthal, Earth Alchemy honors the raw materials of the earth and the artists who elevate them into enduring works of art.
At the center of the exhibition are the striking Stone Creations by Redhawk and Mallét. Each piece begins with rare natural minerals, such as ocean jasper, tiger's eye, and chalcedony, as well as other geological formations that have been shaped over millions of years. Redhawk cuts and polishes the stone to reveal its inner landscape, while Mallét extends its natural patterns outward through paint, creating a seamless dialogue between geology and artistic interpretation.
Master metalsmith Wayne Keeth contributes botanical works cast directly from real flowers and organic forms. Fragile blooms are transformed into silver and gold, preserving fleeting natural beauty in precious metal, a poetic act of preservation and alchemy.
Jewelry artist Jeffrey Goebel showcases sculptural designs featuring gold suspended in quartz, turquoise formed in copper-rich veins, and rare stones embraced in organic metal settings. His work reflects humanity’s enduring relationship with the earth’s treasures, worn not only as adornment, but as a connection.
Completing the exhibition are Janet Blumenthal’s alcohol ink landscapes, whose fluid pigments echo shifting terrain and mineral flow. Guided by breath and spontaneity, her work provides a luminous counterpoint to the solidity of stone and metal.
In Earth Alchemy, raw material becomes refined expression — pressure becomes brilliance, bloom becomes metal, and the elements themselves are transformed through artistic vision.
