Phoenix Laurén makes art to move people, body and soul. Phoenix started singing and performing in church as a toddler. Her deep love of gospel music garnered a natural transition into singing and writing in the RnB and soul genres. As someone who never felt like she quite belonged to the world she was in raised in, Phoenix took those feelings and poured them into her writing to create music that stirs up passion and authenticity, and helps people connect to their quiet inner strength. Phoenix makes music to bring others into a strong sense of self, independence, and identity. She utilized these qualities within her first band, The Strength, who played Sasktel a Jazz Fest alongside one of her greatest influences- Ms. Lauryn Hill. Since then, Phoenix has worked with Grammy award-winning producer Chin Injeti on her solo project to create her own sound along with other local and abroad producers for her debut solo EP.
