Join us early morning to bathe in the sounds of the forest. Specifically, we will be tuning into the dawn chorus which is symphony of song performed by birds at dawn in the spring months. Meet at the layby on the A495, about 400m west of Llynclys Crossroads. There is space for 4 - 5 cars here so car sharing is recommended.
We will then set off to follow the Violet Trial through the nature reserve. This is about a 3 mile walk on some challenge ground so sturdy walking shoes are a must.
We will stop at couple of times. Bring your hot chocolate and some breakfast so we can sit peacefully and listen.
It is recommended to download the Merlin App which can identify birds by song. You’ll be able to identify who is calling out for a mate or seeking to defend their territory.
The dawn chorus is usually dying down by 6:30am so it’s an early start to hear it at its riotous best.
All attendees are fully responsible for their own health and safety and attendance is at your own risk.
