Start you weekend here with an early evening tour history tour and join us on Friday 19 June 2026, for a unique early evening tour that delves into the fascinating history of Warstone Lane Cemetery and Key Hill Cemetery.
From 5:30 pm to 7:45 pm, embark on a journey through time and discover intriguing tales, remarkable individuals, and iconic landmarks that define these historic resting places.


What to Expect

· Meet Unique Figures: Discover the story of the world’s youngest and smallest performer, along with important historical personalities who shaped the era.

· Natural and Architectural Wonders: Marvel at the Ice Age boulder, the Lodge, and explore the exterior catacombs that are found in both cemeteries.
This is a fantastic chance to explore the newly restored cemeteries, view the architecture and learn about the famous faces from Birmingham past who found their final resting places in the Jewellery Quarter, including John Baskerville who died once and was buried several times, Joseph Chamberlain 3x Lord Mayor, a link to the Titanic, Major Harry Gem- Lawn Tennis, The family of author Kathleen Dayus, Alfred Bird- Custard, The Tolkien Family, Birmingham's last Town Crier, Constance Naden, Harriet Martineau, also the world's smallest performing person, along with interesting tales of the residents who rest in these two historic Grade II listed cemeteries.
